We are willing to publish any form of genre fiction so long as the work could be described as ambitious. In other words, Ambition Publishing cares less about "writing for market" and more about writing for art's sake. This doesn't mean work submitted has to be high brow, it just means that it cannot be shallow; we are looking for work that is great in depth, breadth, or both.

While we have only published fantasy novels, do not be discouraged in sending a work of any other genre.

A book we are willing to publish would have the following qualities:

Authorship: Work submitted must be your own work unless you are an agent representative. Your own work means from your own imagination and creative faculties. We will not accept anything written or aided by generative AI tools. We will also not accept anything that is fan fiction in origin.

Style: Different works beckon different styles. Simple is safe, and please avoid purple prose; although, if you have a unique style that is perfect for the work, then feel free to send.

Preferred Length: Anything between 50,000 - 150,000 words in length, but do use good judgment. If your genre is generally lower or higher in word count, use that as the metric of if you should submit. If you do have a work that is under or above that range and are really confident in its quality, do send your manuscript.

Submission Format:

Send your submission in .pdf format. Any other format will not be considered.

The first page of your submission should be a synopsis

After your synopsis, send your first chapter. It should be formatted as such:

- 12 point font (Times New Roman or Courier)

- double-spaced

- one-inch margins on all sides

- left adjusted, ragged right

Try to use minimal formatting otherwise. Smart quotes are preferred.
